This week Year 1 have been planting cress seeds! We have been writing instructions about how to grow cress, as well as observing the changes in our cress over time as part of our learning in science. 
Exploring Axles

In DT this week we have been investigating axles and how to use them to make wheels move. Year 1 discovered that they needed an axle holder to let their axle move properly.
Science Day - Bubbles

Year 1 have had so much fun on Science Day today! We investigated how we could make the biggest bubble, and how we could make the most bubbles. For each question, the children did a great job of thinking of different ideas to try and testing them out.
A Walk Around Adel

As part of our learning in geography, this week Year 1 had a walk to Bedquilts and back to observe the human and physical features we could see. The children were very observant, ticking off lots of features on our clipboards and noticing some extra ones too.
Fire Of London Art

Today we have been creating artwork inspired by the Fire of London. We built on the colour mixing we did earlier in the week to mix our own firey colours using red, yellow and white paint. Then we cut silhouettes of buildings out of black paper and stuck them on. Super artwork Year 1!
