We’ve had a great week practising our oracy skills in Year 3. We have been considering different roles in a discussion, such as the instigator, the clarifier and the summariser, then held a discussion to test out our skills, answering the question, ‘Which is the best poem?’ out of The King’s Breakfast, From a Railway Carriage and Chocolate Cake, which we have been reading during our Poetry Appreciation Week. The children had some super ideas but overall, the King’s Breakfast was the winner and we learnt to recite it today! I was wowed by how quickly the children learnt such a long poem - make sure you ask for a rendition if you haven’t had one already!
